Rumours

This month had an eclipse and Mercury was in retrograde. And boy did we feel it in the Peck House. What better album to have recreated than the mysterious ‘Rumors’ by Fleetwood Mac recorded in 1977. The album’s magical imagery has confused many. For one, why the wooden balls? Well, the unofficial word on the street is that in creating this epic album the band was going through a lot of internal drama in their relationships. The photographer, Herbert Worthington had a difficult time getting the band to come together for the album art.

The imagery depicts Stevie Nicks in her stage persona of Rhiannon. She is a good witch, personifying healing and sovereignty. The crystal ball is a theme from previous albums, and the infamous wooden balls hanging from drummer Mick Fleetwood’s legs are his lucky charms. He stole them from a bar bathroom.

Stevie and Mick were alleged to have an affair during the making of this album. So Gavin and I played with the idea of those specific rumors of an illicit relationship in the rest of the shoot. Allowing ourselves to cuddle and intertwine a bit more.

I had fun playing with the crystal ball and some multiple exposure. We did not have a lucky charm, so I added the heart from my logo to replace the balls.

Enjoy
